Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Invaluable to the Montreal Canadiens throughout the club’s historic dynasty in the late-1970s, both Larry Robinson and Bob Gainey factored heavily in the success of the Habs. Robinson would earn James Norris Tropies in 1977 and 1980, while Gainey would secure a quartet of Frank J. Selke Trophies during the era – with both also winning the prestigious Conn Smythe Trophy. We offer sticks used by the duo during their time with the Montreal Canadiens during the 1980s. Matching KOHO models with each player’s name stamped to his respective stick along with his number handwritten, the original tape remains over each shaved knob and over Robinson’s blade, with the blade tape removed from the Gainey stick. The Robinson shows a bit heavier use, with the HOF defenceman adding a blue marker signature to the shaft.
