Stanley Cup champions while backstopping the Detroit Red Wings, we have a pair of sticks used by Chris Osgood and Mike Vernon during their tenure in Motor City during the 1990s. First, the Osgood is a Hespeler HMP model with “Osgood – 1” graphics, with the original black tape over the blade and paddle, with white over the upper shaft and knob. Great use is exhibited, with wear to the taped section of blade including tears to the tape, with chips, marks and blue paint transfer to the paddle. There is also some tape residue on the shaft, along with heavy red paint transfer. This type of model was used by Osgood in both 1997-98 and 1998-99. The Vernon is a Hespeler RTXG model with “M Vernon” stamped, with with the original black tape over the blade and paddle, with white over the upper shaft and knob. This stick also sports great use, with wear to the taped section of blade including tears to the tape, with numerous to the paddle. There is red paint transfer over the upper shaft. This type of model was used by Vernon in 1994-95. Vernon has added a black marker signature to the paddle which is currently quite faded.
