The recipient of the the Art Ross and Hart Memorial Trophies during his lengthy career which also included selection to seven NHL All-Star Games, Joe Thornton spent 15 seasons with the San Jose Sharks before signing a one-year deal with Toronto, in 2020. This signed stick was used by the star sometime in the late-2000s/early-2010s, with this specific model seeing use from 2008, to and including 2012. A CCM Vector model with “19 J. Thornton” factory graphics, there is a serial number bar code on the underside of the shaft, with the original white ribbed tape pattern on the handle, with the blade tape removed. Thornton has added a silver paint pen signature across the front side blade, and it presents beautifully against the black background. The date of “2-8-10” is also handwritten, but we were unable to find images from the Feb 8, 2010 match vs Toronto showing him using this exact stick. Heavy use is exhibited, with wear to the blade and considerable marks and abrasions to the lower shaft, with a few cracks to the lower shaft that show some of the inner composite material. Despite these issues, the stick remains completely solid and displays well.
