Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
The three young men pictured here, along with their buddy Wayne Gretzky, blossomed into the NHL's elite and were instrumental in the Edmonton Oilers becoming hockey's most exciting team. There are two O-Pee-Chee rookie cards of leader extraordinaire Mark Messier; both are off-centered and received marks of 7 NM and 6 ENM respectively, from KSA. To mention is the miscut back of the former, with the latter exhibiting light wear at all four corners. The greatest skating d-man is what Paul Coffey developed into, with his sharp '81-82 OPC rookie in a KSA holder labeled 8.5 NMM+, while first-rate sniper Jari Kurri completes the inviting group; his RC is slabbed 7 NM, with a couple of lightly dinged corners to note. All four KSA holders are without any unsightly scratches or flaws.
