Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Ah, the first couple of (official) years of popular modern O-Pee-Chee hockey cards are represented here, with the lowdown as follows: “Low” is the condition, with some real hammered and roughed-up cards observed, along with duplication, but there are plenty of acceptable VG-and-lower cards, all in 9-pocket pages, save for the pulled stars. Duplication is heavy at times in both groups, with a decent VG Mickey Redmond rookie card, albeit with an obvious diamond cut, two other rough ones, and doubles of Plante and Cheevers the most notable 1968-69s. Multiples of Barclay Plager, Goldsworthy, Parise, Grant and Flett RCs, along with one Gary Smith rookie card are worth mentioning, with about five dupes among the approximately 150 from ‘68-69. More plentiful and with more appearances by stars is the ’69-70 contingent; we counted roughly 200 different out of the approximately 350 we flipped through. Three of Terry Sawchuk include one crease-free VG+, with two low grade Serge Savard rookies, a VG Bobby Orr and two each of Howe, Hull, Parent, Phil Esposito, Beliveau, Cheevers and Bower to mention, with some decent VG contributors in the ’69-70s to uncover. There are also “singles” of Plante, Mikita, Frank Mahovlich, Sanderson, Keon, Hall and several other stars. Relatively inexpensive perusing and sorting fun is what you’re in for here.
