Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Some decent star and rookie card action from the early-to-mid-1970s is available here, with a light back crease rendering a rather attractive Gilbert Perreault RC VG+, similar to an unmarked 2nd Series checklist (#132) from 1970-71. A 1st Series checklist has eraser evidence in the boxes but is otherwise EX. All-Stars of Hull and the Esposito brothers, two Tony O trophy winner cards, Cashman RC, trophy cards, other All-Stars and other stars all look to be crease-free and in the VG-EX to EX range and highlight just over 100 from that season. Upwards of a hundred meanwhile are from ’72-73 with only a few Hall of Famers contributing and condition appearing similar or a little lesser with no high grade material standing out. Ditto for over (200) ’74-75 OPCs, led by Bowman, Cherry, Salming, McDonald and Davidson RCs, with Orr, Dryden and Lafleur also noteworthy and again, flaws observed with most. A ’77-78 OPC WHA set appears to be complete with an unmarked checklist, while a binder housing some 250 cards won’t produce many pleasant surprises, admittedly, with plenty of beat up ‘70s and ‘80s examples. Some ’69-70 4-in-1 unused albums might be most attractive, while some fun might be had with two boxes of ’88-89 OPC Stickers (there are 12 unused sticker albums with Denis Savard on the cover) and two boxes of ’89-90 OPC “Mini Stars”, with all boxes 48-count affairs and half a dozen packs missing from one sticker box. A stack of some 60 Montreal Canadiens team-issued postcards from the era include three of Patrick Roy and over a dozen ’80-81 Topps team posters are thrown onto the pile. A pile of options is what the winning bidder can anticipate.
