Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Some interesting star and rookie card power along with break-up value is up for grabs here, with Bobby and Wayne leading the legends’ lineup. A low grade Ken Dryden O-Pee-Chee RC is multi-creased but still acceptable with no writing, holes, etc and one of a handful from the first couple of years of the 1970s. Two Orr 1970-71 trophy winner cards are VG+, while some 30 cards from ’72-73 include Orr action and All-Star cards and a creased (G+) 336-Bobby Hull. There are three dozen ’73-74 OPCs, most of them stars with some duplication to note, while 75 other ‘70s representatives are present, with Lafleur, Dryden, Clarke, Dionne, Perreault, Sittler, the Esposito brothers, Potvin and Trottier among the doubles and triples. Material from the 1980s is quite sharp, with a second-year OPC Gretzky NM and joined by 45(!) other regular and special cards featuring Wayne – nice. Rookie cards from the ‘80s? The contingent includes Gartner, Goulet, Kurri, Moog, Ciccarelli, Stastny, Murphy, Anderson, Denis Savard (2), Fuhr (2), Francis, Hawerchuk (2), Stevens, Gilmour, Chelios (2), Lafontaine (2), Sakic and still more. Unmarked checklists are notable and total just over two dozen, with three from ’73-74, a set of three from ’79-80 (EX-MT) and a couple of WHAs to mention. Terry Sawchuk, Gordie Howe and a few Bobby Hull appearances are also noteworthy. Some 50 cards at the back of a binder are early-‘90s affairs. Sorting and pricing and listing possibilities galore here! *The vast majority of the collection features OPC cards, with seven ’85-86 Topps 120-Gretzkys to note.
