One can tell that our gentleman collector/consigner, over the years, acquired cards to his liking, graded or raw, with the result being, in the case of this 1960-61 Topps gathering, a mix of conditions, with most cards free of creases. For instance, ten miscellaneous entries here have been encapsulated, with #58-Bobby Hull receiving a mark of VG-EX 4 at PSA, while 32-Charlie Gardiner All-Time Greats merited 8 NM-MT status at Beckett. In a KSA holder labeled 7 NM is 26-Clapper ATG. Goalies 36-Worsley and 39-McCartan RC are PSA EX-MT 6s, the same as 37-Prentice and 51-Sloan, with 10-Cook ATG, 25-Hall and 42-Hebenton at EX 5 completing the slabbed segment. Some impressive/terrific surfaces are to report among the raw rest, especially with five cards making it to NM-or-higher in our eyes; Howie Morenz and Nels Stewart ATGs, 62-Boivin and commoners 13-Labine and 33-McDonald, while cards in the EX, EX+ and EX-MT realm total 20 and feature Shack, Bucyk and a dozen “greats”, including Vezina, Ross, Cyclone, Newsy and Tiny – nice. Shy of EX, at VG-EX or VG-EX+ are a similar amount (19), led by legends 1-Patrick, Malone, Shore, Clancy and Irvin. Lesser lights are nine at VG (Bathgate, Howell, Pilote) and two lower grade commons. You’ve likely figured out that a Stan Mikita RC is the one card missing. All-in-all, a neat assembly offers plenty to the new owner.
