Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Well, we won’t spook you right away(!), but rather start off with the interesting array of sports goodies featured here, with 1962 Post Canadian cards of Mickey Mantle (light crease), Roger Maris, Frank Robinson and Duke Snider in the VG to VG+ vicinity and without unsightly creases. Joining them is an acceptable (G) 1965 O-Pee-Chee card of “Bob” Clemente that some may have missed in the past. The popular Johnny Bower is pictured on the front of two intriguing publications; one is a handled but acceptable lower grade program from the 1968 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto with the score and the original owner’s name penned to the cover, while a 1965-66 Maple Leafs media guide (VG-EX) is enhanced by the autographs of King Clancy, Andy Bathgate, Norm Ullman and Parker MacDonald on the back cover – nice. A few low grade cards of Worsley, Bathgate (2) and Ullman are present, along with an official program from the (60th) Indianapolis 500 in 1976 (displays decently but with a rough back cover). And now to the non-sport contributors, led by a complete 1961 Spook Stories 72-card set housed in 9-pocket pages. Crease-free VG-EX to EX examples look to dominate, while five pages (45 cards – all but seven are O-Pee-Chees) of Beatles cards include a mix of conditions (mostly low grade but with a few EX-or-better) and a little duplication. Completing are eight 1962 Dr. Kildare cards and a few miscellaneous items, including back-to-back weekend magazine pictures of Bobby Hull and Terry Sawchuk from a scrapbook. A nifty group awaits!
