Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Backstopping his nation at the 2005 IIHF World Championships, Martin Brodeur would see action in seven contests, with the Canadiens losing in the final to Tomáš Vokoun and the Czech Republic. Matching in style to the examples worn at the tournament including by Brodeur, we have a Team Canada jersey signed by the superstar netminder. A Nike label with “52” sizing is affixed to the collar, with an IIHF patch over the reverse lower hem. Styled with the familiar Hockey Canada team crest with embroidered detailing, “30” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with matching vintage-style alternate crests and Zepter sponsorship patches over each shoulder (there is a single Zepter patch on the left shoulder, with the jerseys worn in the tournament by Team Canada sporting Zepter patches over both shoulders). Marty has signed the reverse “0” in thin black marker, with the signature displaying well against the white background. The jersey itself remains in gorgeous new condition.
