Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Two coveted rookie cards and three dozen other 1957-58 Parkies are available in this off-condition offering, with Henri Richard and Frank Mahovlich RCs, although technically low grade, displaying better than badly creased examples. Creasing to the Pocket Rocket’s rookie, along with a couple of surface indentations from a scrape render it F, with The Big M’s RC affected not by creases but by toning (front) and a tape/glue stain on the back, the latter resulting in a smidgen of paper loss. There’s also evidence at the top left and bottom right corners of the card once having been held by “triangles” in an old photo album. Other than half a dozen Canadiens in the VG to VG-EX range (11-Goyette RC, 17-Hodge RC) and one similar Maple Leaf (10-Smith), the remainder are affected by creases and wear, heavy at times and don’t make it to VG. Harvey (P) and Geoffrion (G) and the first five Leafs however are present, with 2-Chadwick RC enhanced by a nice black ink autograph, similar to 19-Olmstead of Montreal. A heavy to top-to-bottom crease allows the Jacques Plante card to almost be folded in two. Whatever, there’s still some appeal – let us know how much!
