Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Although Gordie and Terry are not present here, the key rookie cards are, with this stack good for those not troubled by off-condition vintage cardboard. Jean Beliveau’s coveted RC is Poor with multiple creases and staining/soiling but like the vast majority comprising this lot, has a problem-free legible back with no paper loss. More attractive and G is a Gump Worsley rookie, while badly creased are Andy Bathgate and Harry Howell RCs, the latter one of three cards with evidence of once having been glued. Despite creases, Maurice Richard’s classic card is acceptable, with paper loss (front) and multiple pin holes marring the #30-Lach & Richard example. Included in the most noteworthy among the rest are 1-Lumley (F), 11-Armstrong (G), 29-Geoffrion, 55-Bentley, 59-Rayner, 80-Mosienko, 82-Rollins and 100-Quackenbush (most of them are F), while 64-Allan Stanley (G) has an attractive autograph that joins (and mirrors) the facsimile signature on the front – nice. Nicer than the vast majority are a few Maple Leafs in the VG neighborhood; 7-Kennedy, 10-Nesterenko RC, 15-Morrison and 16-Solinger. Low grade are RCs of 37-Arbour (picturing Dineen – scotch tape, writing on the front) and 38-Dineen (picturing Arbour), with back damage affecting 12-Watson and 40-Kelly. A relatively inexpensive trip back in time is what the high bidder is in for here.
