Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Highlighted by a pair of extremely rare CCM point-of-sale skate displays with affixed decals from the late-1930s/early-1940s, this lot offers a vintage Montreal Canadiens youth-sized jersey and equipment collection that also includes a vintage hockey stick coat rack and ashtray. First, the CCM displays are small finished wood blocks with beveled edges, with each designed to display a mounted skate, with each sporting a desirable CCM decal (light wear to each decal). This is followed by children’s wool Canadiens jerseys, with three with affixed team crests made for very young Habs, along with a slightly larger fourth with turtle neck and no emblem, with this followed by a touque and single uniform sock in Canadiens colours. Next, we have a pair of vintage children’s Habs equipment bags (one shows heavy staining), along with a later Habs knapsack and Bruins equipment bag, four pairs of shin pads including a high-grade CCM adult set from the 1930s with red leather and one made for a small child in Canadiens colours with logos, a youth-sized CCM helmet from the early-1960s, vintage children’s pant shells, and children’s size Habs pajamas. Lastly, we have a vintage 1930s “Duprex Special” hockey stick with taped and cracked blade and heavy wear, a 25” ashtray made from a trio of CCM decal sticks and early-1960s CCM puck (the base is designed to hold a glass ashtray which is no longer present) and the 67” coat rack, made from four matching custom-made hockey sticks with blades at each end, with a puck mounted atop, with moderate wear present. The jerseys and equipment all show moderate wear with no obtrusive damage to mention.
