Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A two-time NHL scoring champion during his HOF career with Montreal, Bernie Geoffrion took part in every All-Star Game from 1952 until 1963 – missing just 1957, with the Hart Memorial Trophy won in 1961. This lot includes a group of five Geoffrion items including three signed, with a Canadiens jersey, Geoffrion-model skates and a trio of framed photos. First, the jersey is a vintage-style CCM model made to simulate wool, with a felt team crest and tackle twill numbers, with Boom Boom adding a thin blue ink signature to the reverse “5” that has bled slightly. This is followed by the framed photos, with a modern 8” x 10” colour print signed in blue marker, matted and framed to 13” x 15”, a Denis Brodeur image with Lafleur and the Rocket possibly taken from a publication, signed in blue ink by both Geoffrion and Lafleur, framed to 11 ½” x 14”, and an unsigned vintage black and white 8” x 10” photo framed to 11” x 13”. The skates are Samson Clipper models from circa-1950s that show just very light use, with the original box with large facsimile-signature Boom Boom Geoffrion label included. A hologram has been affixed to the jersey, with a matching COA to accompany.
