This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
The Montreal Canadiens’ franchise record holder for most goals in a season by a defenceman, Guy Lapointe was a member of the Habs “Big Three” defensive core, with six Stanley Cup championships won throughout the 1970s. This lot features a quartet of Pointu items including a trio that are signed, with a jersey, skates and framed displays. First, the jersey was produced by Reebok with “L” sizing and tackle twill team crest and numbers, with Lapointe placing a blue sharpie signature to the reverse “5”, adding “Pointu”, with some minor bleeding to the signature occurring. Next, the signed photo displays include the cover of the April, 1973 Sports Illustre Quebec newspaper signed in blue sharpie, framed to 14” x 18”, and an unsigned vintage black and white 8” x 10” photo framed to slightly larger dimensions. Lastly, the skates are Samson Scorer models from circa-1950s, with Lapointe signing just the left skate in silver, with the signature flawless. Each blade sports some rusting, with the boots in excellent condition. COAs will accompany for each signed item.
