Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
The final historic season at the iconic Montreal Forum, the 1995-96 NHL campaign would be the last for the Montreal Canadiens in their legendary home at Atwater and Ste-Catherine West. Opening their doors in 1924, the Forum was witness to the greatest moments in hockey history, with numerous Stanley Cup championships won in the noteworthy venue. Celebrating that final season and hailing directly from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens and most likely displayed originally at the Bell Centre, we have an oversized final season ticket poster laminated to board. At approx 30” x 40”, all 41 home game and 5 preseason contest tickets are pictured, with this particular set of tickets some of the most desirable in the hobby due to the inclusion of a number of legendary stars, with one featured on each ticket, including Vezina, Morenz, Cleghorn, Hainsworth, the Rocket, Plante, Lafleur, Dryden and countless others. There are a few surface blemishes to note, with the display presenting marvelously. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
