Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Three of the biggest names in the history of the Canadiens franchise spanned five decades as Maurice Richard passed the torch to Jean Beliveau, who then handed it down to Guy Lafleur. Included in this lot are three framed and matted black-and-white photo reproductions which look amazing in their black frames. While the frames do have some scuffs, chips, and rubber adhesive residue, this is understandable when since it was on display in hockey’s revered temple. On the back, the frames will have holes where they were previously mounted and some tears in the backing paper. However, this should in no way take away from your enjoyment of these unique pieces. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Montreal Forum and possibly later on at the Molson Centre/Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
