Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

Led by American League Championship Series MVP Roberto Alomar, the Toronto Blue Jays were crowned Canada’s first World Series champions in 1992, and followed up with their second championship in 1993. The Jays beat Oakland in the ALCS and then took out the Atlanta Braves in six games for their first of two straight World Series titles. This magnificent personal trophy was produced at Alomar’s request, with the superstar allowed to order additional specimens to be given to friends and family. Produced by Balfour and featuring a 7” circular base with mounted ball and crown motif, 26 gold-coloured flag pins encompass, one for each MLB club, with enamel Jays and Braves pins added to the foreground. A gold band circles the base, with “World Series Champions”, "Toronto Blue Jays”, “1992” and “Roberto Alomar” all engraved. Exhibiting minimal surface wear which includes a bit of spotting to the flag pins, the trophy commemorating the first championship north of the border displays beautifully, and we should mention that the Braves pin on the base was broken and reattached at some point. Furthermore, please take note that this item may be subject to a silent reserve.
