Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Larry Robinson enjoyed a breakout season with the Canadiens in 1974-75 as he posted 61 points, but even greater days were ahead in the form of two Norris Trophy wins and five more Stanley Cup championships. Offered here is a fine framed photo display featuring a young Robinson coming around the net and evading New York Rangers forward Pete Stemkowski, with the modern print matted. The large black metal frame does have some rubber adhesive residue on top and some marks and scuffs on the front of the frame, which is understandable when since it was on display in hockey’s revered temple. On the back, there are some tears in the backing paper, but this should in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Montreal Forum and possibly later on at the Molson Centre/Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
