Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
The Canadiens added grit and veteran leadership when they signed Doug Gilmour as a free agent before the start of the 2001-02 campaign. Over two seasons, he appeared in 131 games and racked up 71 points before returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs. There are a few scuffs and marks on the front and corners of the frame as to be expected from hanging in one of hockey's holy temples, but it will display nicely in your home or office. Some of the lamination does show signs of wear, but the photo remains intact. The framing on the back has two holes where screws were attached and there is some mild staining. However, this will in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
