Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
A product of the Montreal Junior Canadiens during the early-to-mid-1960s, Serge Savard made his NHL debut in 1966-67 with Montreal, and earned selection to five All-Star Games throughout his career. The Senator would also be a part of eight Stanley Cup championships. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens and most likely displayed originally at the Montreal Forum and possibly later at the Bell Centre, we have a Hall of Fame honoured member framed photo of the 1969 Conn Smythe Trophy winner. At 5 ¼” x 10” (exposed), the modern print picture’s Savard on the Habs bench, with tattered socks and sweater in full view. A gold-coloured name plaque listing his induction year (1986) has been inserted beneath, double-matted and framed to 16” x 16”, with some light wear to the frame to note. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
