Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
One of the most skilled defenceman of his era, Sprague Cleghorn dominated the opposition with his no holes barred physical game, with endless players who crossed the superstar earning his ferocious wrath. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens and most likely displayed originally at the Montreal Forum and possibly later at the Bell Centre, we have a Hall of Fame honoured member framed photo of the legendary tough as nails star. At 6 ½” x 10” (exposed), the modern print pictures Peg in his Renfrew Creamery Kings sweater, with the image used famously for his 1910-11 Sweet Caporal postcard. A gold-coloured name plaque listing his induction year (1958) has been inserted beneath, double-matted and framed to 16” x 16”, with some light wear to the frame to note. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
