Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

Owned by Missouri Lieutenant Governor William S. Morris, with the eventual goal of an NHL team in the state’s largest city, the Kansas City Blues were formed in 1967 and short-lived, serving as an in-state affiliate of the St Louis Blues. Matching the parent club stylistically, we have a gorgeous vintage KC Blues jersey originating from the early-1970s. A partially-detached Wilson label with “44” sizing and a Giesler-Jorgen tag are affixed to the collar, with no additional labeling present. Styled with the classic blue note team crest administered in layered tackle twill, “23” appears over the verso in matching material, with no nameplate or fight strap utilized. Authenticated by an expert regarding St Louis Blues jerseys, the parent club only wore Rawlings specimens during the era and never Wilson.
Surviving in absolutely beautiful condition, the durene jersey exhibits a few fabric pulls and material runs, with a large stick mark on the upper left sleeve and a few tiny holes over the front. There is also some pilling to the interior along with minor puckering to the team crest assuring numerous washings, and we should note that some of the stitching at each reinforced elbow has given way.
