Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1998 along with fellow Quebec teammate Peter Stastny, Michel Goulet was an especially dominant sniper during the 1980s with the Nordiques, securing four-consecutive 50+ goal seasons. Forced to retire due to a head injury in 1994, Goulet later won a pair of Stanley Cup championships with the Colorado Avalanche as director of player personnel. This signed stick was used by the skilled scorer during his rookie campaign in 1979-80, where he scored 54 points in 77 games. A Canadien model in solid white with a striping accent in Nords colours, “M. Goulet” is stamped to the upper shaft, with the original black tape covering the blade and white over the handle and knob. There is also a date code stamped to the underside of “Fev 1980”. Exhibiting heavy use with wear to the underside of the blade and numerous marks to the shaft, there are also a few small dings to the shaft and cracks to the fiberglass. This is mentioned for the strict accuracy, as the stick is unaffected by the small and minor damage and remains completely solid. Goulet has signed over the upper shaft in black marker, with the signature flawless. A JSA sticker for the signature numbered “FF63405” is also affixed to the lower shaft.
