Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Originally commissioned as an exclusive resort for wealthy Newport summer residents in 1879, the Newport Casino housed the National Tennis Club, which later became part of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Seeing use for guest seating at matches at the Hall of Fame, each approx 37” wooden folding chair sports a vintage appearance, with heavy surface wear throughout, giving evidence to their vintage. Each also sports a stenciled number along the top of the seat back, with “173” and “164” in yellow on two of the chairs, and “91” in red on the third chair (this example is also slightly different in construction).
