Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
The late Doug Wickenheiser etched his place in St. Louis Blues history with his unforgettable overtime goal in Game 6 of the 1986 conference final. Tragically, Doug died from cancer at the age of 37 in 1999. His No. 14 has not been issued by the Blues since and the Fourteen Fund charity was launched by the Blues in his honor. Wickenheiser’s 1986-87 Blues game-worn jersey with a CCM patch on the hem has Maska tagging and a born-on date tag in the collar with the year obscured. There are pieces of blue vinyl missing on the “4” on the back and the top of the blue vinyl “4” on the right sleeve hangs loose. Game wear includes a thin black mark on the front of the right shoulder, black marks on the front and both sleeves, board burns and sweat strains. Comes with an LOA.
The second digit in the year ("8? 07") is illegible in the born-on date tag in collar. Like most St. Louis Blues jerseys from that season, the nameplate on this jersey was most likely removed and reattached.
