Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2021
The current record holder for most NHL games played by a defenseman, Chris Chelios enjoyed an especially lengthy career that included 26 seasons of premier league hockey, with a trio of James Norris trophies earned along with selection to 16 All-Star Games. This stick was used by the legendary blueliner in 1987-88, his fifth NHL season with the Montreal Canadiens. A Sher-Wood 7000 PMP model, “Chelios” and “24” are stamped to the upper shaft, with the original black tape on the blade and knob. The striping accent is mostly intact, with a date code on the underside of “3 Nov 1987”. Nice game-use is exhibited, with wear to the blade including a small chip to the top edge, with some marks and wear to the lower shaft.
