Worthy of consideration for those enamored with the antique game, we offer a great little collection of rarely-seen early hockey items totaling 17 and ranging from the early-1900s – possibly late-1800s – until the 1930s, highlighted by five documents from the early-1900s pertaining to the Belleville Colts hockey team. Included, we have a turn-of-the-century spoon with embossed hockey player, a small frame with affixed mini Huntingdon, Quebec hockey team photo (4 ½” x 6”), turn-of-the-century complete deck of mini playing cards with hockey scene, a 1906-07 Parrsboro Hockey Club ticket (heavy wear), a 1906 McGill Hockey & Skating Club ticket, a 1914 mini March calendar with female hockey player (3 ½” x 5 ½”), a Syracuse Stars advertising postcard (1930s), an “International Series” hockey ticket postcard (1930s), A Startford Nationals score card (late-1920s, 3” x 7” with heavy wear), a Montreal mini silk banner (2” x 3 ½”) and more! The Colts items include postcards mentioning admission to the city league (Nov 18, 1902) and furnishing of uniforms from Harold A Wilson (Dec 5 and Dec 12), a Wilson uniform list on company letterhead (Dec 6, 1902) and a receipt for the Colts from the Belleville Gas Company (Dec 31, 1902). Each postcard shows wear, with tears and paper loss to the two documents with each fragile.
