Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Sporting a unique design with polychrome maple leaf team crest, the jerseys utilized by Team Canada during the late-1970s deviated in design from the iconic half maple leaf proudly worn during the Summit Series. Originating from the personal collection of Sam Simpson, an executive assistant to Alan Eagleson during Canada Cups and World Hockey Championships, we have a Team Canada jersey produced for use at the IIHF World Championships in the late-1970s, circa 1977 or 1978. Featuring an Athletic Knit label with “48” sizing sewn to the collar, the multi-coloured team crest, numbers and “Canada” over the shoulders have all been rubberized, with no nameplate present. Exhibiting some staining/discolouration over each sleeve, there are also a few dark marks visible beneath the reverse number.
