Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

Currently holding the 6th position in the IIHF World Ranking, Team USA famously won Olympic gold medals in both 1960 and 1980, along with silver medals in 2002 and 2010. The Americans were also victorious at the World Championships, in 1933 and 1960. Hailing from the late-1960s, this stunning and patriotic jersey was produced for use by the US national team. Sporting a General Athletic label affixed to the inside seam and measuring-out to roughly a size 54, the tie-neck durene features “USA” stylized in layered tackle twill, with “35” over the sleeves and verso in matching material. Considering the size and high number, the jersey would have been most likely produced for a goaltender. With just minor wear present, the jersey is being offered as a game-issued specimen, but we should note that it does show signs of being washed, with some puckering to the numbers and team-crest, with this most noticeable on the interior. There are also a few minor holes over the lower reverse.
