Leading Finland to gold at the World Juniors in 2018, Jesperi Kotkaniemi made his NHL debut for the Montreal Canadiens against the traditional-rival Toronto Maple Leafs, on Oct 3, 2018. The Pori native scored 42 points in his first 115 regular-season contests for the Habs. This signed stick was used by Kotkaniemi in 2019-20. A Bauer Nexus model with “Kotkaniemi” factory graphics, the original black tape is in place on the blade and blue Lizard Skin grip on the handle, with a bar code affixed to the underside of the shaft. Jesperi has added a silver paint pen signature to the front side heel, and it displays beautifully. Hailing from the personal collection of a Montreal Canadiens/Chicago Black Hawks executive, a Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
Just light game-use is exhibited on the composite, and we should note that while images show Kotkaniemi using this model with the Habs with black tape on the blade, it may have seen use with Laval (Kotkaniemi played in 13 games for the Rockets in 2019-20 and 36 for Montreal, with images showing him using black and white tape on this model stick with Laval).
