Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

Atop the talent pool of their respective countries, Guy Lafleur and Vladislav Tretiak featured prominently throughout the 1970s, with The Flower leading the Montreal Canadiens to a quartet of Stanley Cup championships late in the decade, while Tretiak dominated all competition, helping to secure nine gold medals for the Soviets. Featuring the signatures of the HOF pair, we have a collection of four signed items. Included, we have individually-signed Habs and Soviet jerseys, a Lafleur 500th goal souvenir stick signed by the superstar, and a framed display from their famous clash on New Years’s Eve in 1975 still recognized as the greatest game ever played. First, the jerseys both feature tackle twill team crests and numbers, with each signing the reverse number, with the Tretiak specimen bleeding in to the background material somewhat. Holograms have also been affixed near each signature. Next, the framed display includes an 8” x 10” photo signed by the pair in blue marker, with pins and a plaque inserted beneath, double-matted and framed to 18 ½” x 18 ½”. The signatures are a bit faded, with light wear to the frame. Lastly, the Lafleur stick is full-sized and features graphics announcing his 500th goal with the date of “Dec 20, 1983”, with Guy adding a signature across the blade that is now almost completely faded, with the also faded limited-edition number of “20/500” handwritten above near an affixed hologram.
