This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2021
After winning silver at the IIHF World Championships for the first time in 23 years in 1985, Team Canada followed up with a bronze medal the following year, with our nation also claiming the silver medal at the 1989 competition. This three-inch silver medal brought home by a member of the Canadian squad that captured the silver medal in 1989 features a hockey scene and “World Championships” on the face, with the enameled IIHF logo gracing the reverse. The heavy award hangs on a regal blue and yellow ribbon and is in gorgeous condition, with just light wear present. The medal is originally from the collection of Marvin Goldblatt and his signed LOA will accompany.
