Notching the overtime winner in Game 5 of the 1957-58 Stanley Cup finals – the third overtime finals marker of his career, Maurice Richard would make NHL history during that memorable season as the first player in history to score 500 career goals. The Rocket and the Montreal Canadiens would defeat Boston in the Stanley Cup finals to claim their third-consecutive championship. This oversized and framed team photo of the 1957-58 Canadiens has been team-signed by 17 members. At approx 16” x 18” (exposed), the modern colour print pictures the full squad with the Stanley Cup, with all 17 signing over their image in matching blue ink including deceased HOF members Jean Beliveau, Kenny Reardon, Dickie Moore, Boom Boom Geoffrion, Bert Olmstead, Tom Johnson and the Richard brothers. Matted and framed to approx 26” x 29”, a plaque has been inserted beneath, with no issues for the signatures.
The additional signers include Talbot, Turner, Bonin, Pronovost, Goyette, Marshall, Hodge, St Laurent and Frank Selke Jr.
