Making the most conference finals appearances of all 24 expansion teams, the Philadelphia Flyers have represented the City of Brotherly Love since joining the NHL in 1967, and have earned 16 division championships along with a pair of Stanley Cup titles. This lot contains a collection of 16 sticks game-issued, game-used and team-signed by Flyers players, spanning through the 1970s and 1980s. Included, we have sticks from Mike Ricci (signed, with the blade broken), Bobby Clarke (game-issued, signed by Clarke, Leach and one other), Brad McCrimmon (mid-1980s game-used and team-signed by 25 including McCrimmon, Marsh, Resch, Craven, Daignault and others), Reggie Leach (heavy wear throughout, appears used later by unknown player), Tom Bladon (game-issued, signed by 8 including Shero, Van Impe, Crisp, Barber and others), Orest Kindrachuk (game-issued, with “1973-74 Stanley Cup champions” plaque affixed to the blade), Steve Duchesne (1991-92, signed), Simon Nolet (heavy wear throughout, appears used later by unknown player), Dave Poulin (no name on shaft, #20 on blade), and one other, along with a stick blade used by J.J. Daigneault during the 1986-87 season. Rounding out the lot, we have two team-signed youth-sized sticks, with one signed by 13 including Propp, Kerr, Clarke, Howe, Poulin and others, while the second appears to be signed by the same players, but with most of the signatures smudged. Finally, we have four goal sticks, including Bernie Parent (heavy wear with unusual tape job – possibly used by a different player), Wayne Stephenson (heavy wear, tape added to lower paddle), Bobby Taylor (game-issued, signed by 6 including Shero, Barber and Van Impe) and Dominic Roussel (1991-92 with heavy use, team-signed by 20 across the paddle including Roussel, along with Howe, Dineen, Acton, Conroy, Recchi, Kushner and others). The group shows varying degrees of game-use, with no sticks broken or badly damaged unless otherwise noted. We should also mention that these particular sticks were not necessarily used while with the Flyers.
