Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
The first NHL games ever played in the People's Republic of China, the league’s international strategy to grow the game globally culminated in the collaboration between the NHL, NHLPA, and representatives from the Chinese Government to have a pair of preseason games played in the country between the Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks, preceding the 2017-18 season. The first game was played at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, on Sept 21, 2017, where the offered Vancouver Canucks jersey was worn by Tomas Vanek. “56” sizing appears along the Adidas collar band, with NHL and Adidas crests over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with an attractive tackle twill team crest with embroidered detailing, “26” appears over the sleeves and verso in single blue twill, with matching vintage style crests over each shoulder along with the 2017 NHL “China Games” patch over the right breast. “26” has also been handwritten to the fight strap, with the team patch placed just above listing “September 21 Shanghai”. Worn for just the single contest, the jersey exhibits light expected wear with no obtrusive marks. A COA from the Canucks will accompany.
