Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A veteran of over 400 NHL contests, Brent Hughes enjoyed a lengthy career that included appearances for five different clubs, with time also spent in additional leagues including the WHA. From his third WHA season and first in Birmingham, we have a Bulls alternate captain’s jersey worn by the Bowmanville native in 1977-78. A Russell Athletic label is affixed to the collar with “XL” sizing, with the vintage tie-neck sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 52. Featuring rubberized identifiers including the Bulls team crest, striping bands and numerals, “Hughes” appears over the affixed nameplate in single blue twill, with the alternate’s “A” in layered tackle twill. Marks and burns are present over the front, with wear to the rubberized identifiers throughout. There are also a number of small holes over each sleeve.
