Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
One of the oldest junior hockey teams in the world, the Selkirk Fishermen have been around for over a century and have a fine legacy which includes Hall of Fame talent such as Charlie Gardiner and Harry Oliver. This circa-1920s wool sweater features the classic fish emblem appliqued in white felt with red accent threading. With “Standard Knitwear” tagging in the collar and original felt “9” firmly affixed to the sweater’s reverse, the crimson-red garment displays beautifully. There is a medium-sized hole on the right arm just below the creamy white bands along with an old black mark, potentially from a puck, on the middle band. Additionally, it should be noted that a medium-sized and a large-sized hole can be found on the back of the right shoulder. There are a few more small holes throughout the jersey, with the most notable ones coming on the lower portion of the left arm and one just below the neck. These flaws, however, are minor due to the jersey’s age and overall visual appeal. Comes with an LOA.
