Popular due to its outstanding rookie card lineup (which totals 94), is O-Pee-Chee’s 1974-75 set and after a quick debate over which of these three marvelous uncut sheets has the most RC/star power appeal, we’ve zeroed-in on the one that has Don Cherry and Scotty Bowman appearing in the same row, their cards sandwiching that of Reg Leach, with Fred Shero just above Bowman. Further down, in the far left/far right rows are McDonald and Salming RCs, with Dryden and 14 other HOFers also present – nice. Gainey, Shutt, Middleton and Resch RCs and 12 team cards pace the second place sheet, while damage sends the other to third. It doesn’t affect the Orr card, with all All-Star cards and other specials contributing. More details/images are on our website – these are c-o-o-l, COOL!
Now then, as for the condition of the (28” by 43”) sheets, (yes, they have printed backs), there is almost-standard creasing, although less of it on the Cherry/Bowman-led example, with tears (upper left corner) and creasing (top row) most obvious. The “second” sheet has masking tape at the corners to note, along with some severe creasing in the two rows at the far right (top half). The other is in lesser condition, with a two-inch tear affecting the Denis Potvin RC at the far left of the fourth row from the top. A sizeable tear above makes its way through three cards but not into Bobby Orr, while a missing piece is visible in the upper left corner. A complete 396-card set in uncut sheet form sure brings back memories to kids who busted open ’74-75 packs – you’ll be busting (with joy) when these are delivered.
