Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Of the less plentiful T206s with El Principe de Gales card backs is this superb, aesthetically pleasing rendition of longtime Chicago Cubs shortstop Joe Tinker who, for the uninformed, had a longtime feud with teammate Johnny Evers, with the two reportedly not speaking to one another for years following a seemingly silly dispute. Seemingly with characteristics superior to those of a VG card is this “Bat on Shoulder” variation, with however half of “Tinker, Chicago Nat’l” not visible in the bottom border a possible/partial explanation. Get this, after 33(!) years, Tinker and Evers ended their feud at a Chicago Cubs Oldtimers game. Fascinating stories to go with our consignor’s fascinating collection of encapsulated treasures from the Cubs’ heyday!
