Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Selected instead of superstar Mike Bossy by Rangers GM John Ferguson at the 1977 NHL Entry Draft because "Bossy didn't check enough for the NHL”, Lucien DeBlois would spend a few seasons in both New York and Colorado before making his debut in a Winnipeg Jets jersey, in 1981-82. DeBlois would score over 50 points in each of his three seasons in River City, with this offered puck used by the Joliette native to score his first NHL Hat Trick, vs the powerful Edmonton Oilers, on March 23, 1983. Netting his 23rd, 24th and 25th goals of the season in the 7-4 victory, the Jets puck includes a rubberized team crest that shows wear and crazing, with the puck mounted to a detailed 7” x 9” wooden plaque with a gold plate beneath listing the particulars including “Lucien DeBlois”, “1st NHL Hat Trick” and “March 23, 1983” (there is wear and blemishes to the plaque). A signed LOA from Lucien DeBlois will accompany.
