Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Hollywood hockey royalty, the cast of 1977’s parody Slap Shot have enjoyed continued popularity throughout the intermediate years, with each and every character in the film still resonating with hockey fans today. Celebrating the epic and well-recited film, we have a pair of Chiefs jerseys, with one signed by actor Yvon Barrett who played eccentric netminder Denis Lemieux, with the desirable line from the movie of “Trade me right f*cking now” added, while the second Chiefs jersey has been signed by all three infamous Hanson brothers, including Dave Hanson (Jack Hanson), Steve Carlson (Steve Hanson) and Jeff Carlson (Jeff Hanson). Both jerseys feature the classic Chiefs team crest along with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers. Lemieux has signed the reverse “1” in black, adding the desirable annotation along with both his name and screen name (a hologram has been added beneath), while the Hanson brothers have all signed within the reverse "6" in white, using their real names, with no issues for the attractive signatures. A JSA sticker numbered “WP536296” has also been affixed, and we should note an errant black line beneath the signatures.
