Producing one of the hardest slap shots the game has ever witnessed, Al MacInnis patrolled NHL bluelines for parts of 23 seasons, split between Calgary and St Louis. The 1989 Conn Smythe winner also won gold with Canada at the Olympic Games. From the era of his James Norris Trophy win in 1999, we have a signed stick used by the star during the late-1990s/early-2000s, with this specific type of model seeing use for approx four seasons, from 1998-99 to 2001-02. A Sher-Wood PMPX 9950 model with “MacInnis 2” factory graphic on the upper shaft, “Handcrafted Exclusively for Al MacInnis 2” also appears on the underside. The original white ribbed pattern tape job is intact on the handle, with the blade tape removed to allow for the big bold black marker autograph across the front side blade, and it displays beautifully. Just light game-use is exhibited, with some marks and wear to the shaft, with a tiny separation visible at the top edge of the heel section. Hailing from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
