Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
The highest NHL scorer of the 1980s after a player named Wayne Gretzky, Paul Stastny captured the Calder Memorial as the freshest face in 1981, and was the first rookie to top the 100-point plateau. From the late-1980s/early-1990s (Nordiques or Devils), we have a signed stick used by the 1998 HOF inductee. A Chino GLM 999 model with “Stastny P.” and “26” stamped to the upper shaft, the original black tape remains on the blade (with clear beneath) and white on the knob. Heavy game-use is exhibited which includes wear to the taped section of blade, with considerable surface wear to the shaft including dark marks over the lower section. Most of the NHL striping accent is also intact. Stastny has signed the lower shaft in red, adding a personalization. Hailing from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
