Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
From his penultimate and final season in New Jersey with the Devils after a remarkable stay in East Rutherford/Newark that included five William Jennings, four Vezina awards and a trio of Stanley Cup championships, we have a signed stick used by superstar Martin Brodeur during the 2013-14 season. A Sher-Wood Super Light 700G model, “Brodeur” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft, with the original white tape over the blade and knob, with red tape over the upper shaft (there is also a strip of white tape with “EDM” handwritten over the upper shaft). A serial number has also been affixed to the underside of the shaft, with Martin signing the top of the paddle in black marker, with the signature displaying well. Hailing from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
Nice game use is exhibited, with puck marks over the front and reverse blade, with a very minor separation beginning at the underside of the heel. There are also a few chips to the paddle, with a bit of red paint transfer on the reverse heel. Getty Images #183910154 and #183609211 (Oct 7, 2013 vs Edmonton) have both been matched to a number of black puck marks on the blade of the stick.
