The two men at the top of the their respective sport historically, Gordie Howe and Wayne Gretzky have both served as the NHL’s all-time leading scorer, with the record held between the pair for over half a century. This lot contains a shadow box display featuring pucks signed by the two players responsible for the “Most Goals in Pro Hockey History”, accompanied by a dual photo plaque signed by the iconic duo. The shadow box display is just under 15” x 21”, with Rangers and Red Wings pucks mounted, with each individually signed in silver, with a photo of Wayne above holding goal puck #1072. A plaque listing each player’s goals resides below (Gretzky 1072, Howe 1071), with the limited-edition number of “49/99” over the lower right. The accompanying wooden plaque is 14” x 21”, with individually signed 8” x 10” photos mounted under plexiglass, with name plates added along with “129 of 1000”. UDA holograms have been affixed to each shadow box puck, with COAs included.
The shadow box holograms from UDA include “BAF55864” for the Howe, and “BAF52513” for the Gretzky. The pucks display beautifully with no issues, with light wear to the shadow box. The accompanying plaque shows wear along edges, with each signature showing signs of moderate fading.
