Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Bringing his world renowned netminding expertise to the Philadelphia Flyers organization, Jacques Plante would serve as a goaltending instructor with the club in the late-1970s. Hailing from his time with Fred Shero’s Flyers, this lot includes a snazzy, stretchy nylon sweat suit with “Coach Plante” embroidered on the left breast of the jacket, a ’77-78 Flyers team photo with coach Plante pictured smack dab in the middle (8" x 11"), and copies of nine double-sided “coaching pad” sheets, detailing numerous drills that the wizard had thought up! Completing the lot is a matted photo of the NHL Oldtimers team that played a Flyers alumni team in September of 1981. Included are Plante, Giacomin, Picard, Stemkowski, Pappin, Dennis Hull and coach Don Cherry. The sweat suit shows very little wear and the photos and notes show no issues. Originally from the personal collection of Jacques Plante’s widow Caroline, her signed LOA will accompany.
