Serving double duty as a sendoff for legendary superstar Wayne Gretzky who had retired the previous season, the 2000 NHL All-Star Game was held in Toronto on Feb 6, with Wayne’s “99” raised to the rafters before the contest, as his number was retired league-wide. Team World would take on Team North America, with the former taking the victory 9-4 on the strength of a hat trick by Pavel Bure. This 2000 All-Star Game jersey has been team-signed by over 40 Team World and Team North America players. A CCM “Goalie Style” label and “58” size tag are affixed to the collar, with a tackle twill NHL shield crest and numbers utilized. HOF signers include Martin Brodeur, Eric Lindros, Steve Yzerman, Chris Chelios, Ray Bourque, Mike Modano, Joe Sakic and others.
The additional signers include Eric Desjardins, John LeClair, Olaf Kolzig, Mats Sundin, Tony Amonte, Teemu Selanne, Rob Blake, Sami Kapanen, Nicklas Lidstrom and others, with each signature placed over the front of the jersey in black marker. The majority of the signatures display well, with just a frame for display needed.
