Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
While game-used items such as jerseys, bats and even baseballs all serve as tangible relics of the sport, equipment used throughout MLB contests such as the offered second base provide a more unique, and seldom-seen collectible. This example saw action in Yankee Stadium and was used during the first of a two-game series between the Yankees and the visiting Toronto Blue Jays, on Sept 19, 2012. At approx 15” x 15” and sporting decent weight, the Schutt “Hollywood Base” includes a raised MLB logo over the top section, with New York Yankees plates added to each side. There is a date stamp on the underside of “Dec 17 2011”, with a handwritten blue marker inscription of “9-19-12 – 2nd – Game 1”. Exhibiting nice game-use with dirt staining throughout, we should also note that according to the MLB website, "2nd Base used from the top of the 6th inning through the 9th Inning".
