Representing Canada at back-to-back World Junior tournaments which included winning gold in 1988, Sheldon Kennedy was drafted 80th overall by Detroit in 1988, and would spend parts of five seasons with the club before additional time with Calgary and Boston. This Red Wings jersey was worn by the Brandon native in 1993-94. East Side and Maska labels are affixed to the collar near a size “50” fly tag, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the classic winged-wheel team crest with embroidered detailing, the mesh V-neck sweater has been accented with “15” over the sleeves and verso in single twill, with “Kennedy” arching across the upper reverse in individual red twill letters. Heavy game-use is exhibited on the Motor City garment, with numerous puck and stick marks littering the front band along with heavy burns with resulting holes over the lower right sleeve. There is also a small hole near the left elbow, with a bit of yellowish staining over the team crest.
